Design For Industry 2009
BA DFI graduates old and new will identify with the idea that we teach a way of seeing and thinking. There is no 'house style' there is no 'one size fits all'! BA(Hons) Design for Industry graduates are bespoke creations; each individually shaped using the finest raw materials and a little Northumbria know-how.
This year's graduates are the perfect example of this. They demonstrate a breadth of individual interests and skills that reflect the breadth of development within our profession. From systems and services to medical products and luxury goods there are projects of all shapes and sizes. But look beneath the finished article at the processes and approaches adopted in their creation. These are graduates for whom the journey is as important as the destination - an asset in any organisation. They have gone beyond the obvious in pursuit of the best solution, developing not only their ideas but their approaches along the way.
In the four years that we have had the privilege of helping them, they have grown as individuals and as designers, as team-players and as leaders, they have shown initiative and taken advice and they have brought together their collective experience in this exhibition so that you can see what they're made of!
